On behalf of this year’s Management Committee, I would like to welcome and thank all athletes and parents joining and participating in the Ashmore Little Athletics Centre for the 2009/2010 Season. The Ashmore Centre is entering its 25th season of competition. The last season was extremely successful with a lot of our athletes achieving wonderful results at Zone and State. Congratulations to all our Athletes for putting in a 100% effort.

We would like to thank past committee members, parents and athletes for their contributions who is retiring from the committee after many years of service. We will miss the work she has done over the years for our club.

WE ARE ALL VOLUNTEERS from various sections of the community with a common interest – our children – and the fun in sport. With this in mind, the committee would ask you to assist in the running of events and competitions. If you have any questions we are there to help you understand what needs to be done. By helping, you are supporting your children and being a positive role model for all children attending Ashmore Little Athletics Centre. All help is totally voluntary and greatly appreciated.

The Ashmore Management Committee will continue with the U16’s and U17 competition. We also have the great news that both of these age groups will be competing at regional and state level this year. They will have competition at these levels as a combined group.

We wish you well for the coming season. Remember that self-improvement, fun and a sense of “fair play” are the main goals for all involved in Little Athletics by taking the above into account we all will be able to promote Little Athletics’ main goal of FAMILY – FUN – FITNESS.
